‘Refresher’ Course

Cost:                £250

It is incumbent on practitioners to maintain their skills in the intervening years between completion of a formal ‘full’ training programme and recertification.

Whilst it is not mandatory, but ‘advisory’, to ensure skill maintenance and confidence and upgrade knowledge during the interval, it is recommended that ‘refresher’ training is conducted on an annual basis as a minimum, and that it is further complemented by more frequent locally arranged ‘in-house’ team rehearsal and appropriate continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

For those who need to ‘refresh' and update the skills they previously learned on a course, Sports ER runs one-day refresher courses that complement the corresponding ‘advanced plus’, ‘advanced’ and ‘intermediate’ level courses.

The course is comprised of four 2-hour practically-based modules covering (i) assessment and management of the critically ill or injured athlete, (ii) sudden cardiac arrest, (iii) spinal injury, and (iv) musculoskeletal limb injury.
